Book review: Extolled by Karen Glista (@ElizabethGlist1 )

The Brotherhood are assimilating everyone, and Nicole’s number is nearly up. She’s reviewbiding her time when a knock at the door opens an opportunity she could never have imagined. She had never expected the appearance of her half-sister, Jenna, daughter of a billionaire and, more surprising, she has a plan for escape. What choice was there to make? Nicole follows her sister only to find herself transported to a whole new world. It had taken 16 years, but Clay Kurth finally succeeded in finding a means to send flesh and blood to Orian, where his son and daughter both live following a bizarre series of events that saw them pulled into what had once been a world they thought only to be part of a game. But their arrival heralds possibly the greatest threat Orian has ever faced.

Oh wow, this is such an epic sequel to Embellished. I am scolding myself for not reading it sooner. Sixteen years have passed since we last saw Bekka Kurth, and what a sixteen years they have been. A time of peace and change, and yet on a distant horizon of an undiscovered shore a new threat has been born, and it is ravenous. There is so much to lose yourself in, there’s the lives of the characters, their families, fortune and loses, joy and tragedies. This really is one heck of a journey written with the same unrelenting pull of the first book in the series. This tale will sink its claws deep and you’ll not want to part with it until those final words and, even then, it’ll leave you wanting more.  Karen Glista has a stunning talent for fantasy, I can’t wait to see where she takes me in the third and final book of the Chronicles of Orian. This is easily one of the best fantasy books I’ve read this year, Extolled not only gets my heart-felt recommendation, but my highest compliments as well.

Remedy, insight and information.

September 1st is quickly approaching and that can only mean one thing, the next book in The Forgotten Legacies series will soon be out.

Instead of bombarding you with several posts containing cover work and promotional images, I thought I would condense it all into one. Although I do have some more amazing pictures on the way, and a fantastic trailer, I’m not ready to release them yet, but I assure you, you will not be disappointed.

Like all the books preceding it, Remedy will read as a stand alone story, and will also be donating  10% of the author royalties to The DMWS. You’ll see their donate button on the side of my page, feel free to stop by and show the real heroes your support.

Cover reveal:

This year I have gone for something a little different, a separate cover for eBook and paperback. I am absolutely thrilled with how they have turned out, so I hope you like them too.

Synopsis:

Before there were legends there was war.
Before fables came twisted truth and distorted tales.
Things deemed too dangerous were sealed, and bound for all eternity.
Or so it was believed.

Whispers from an ancient realm threaten the peace, drawing a lone adventurer into The Depths of Acheron.
He seeks something from within this sealed domain, and those banished want something in return.
Something belonging to them.

There was a prophecy forged of rebirth and death.
But knowing what is to come can change what will be.
And there is one who seeks to do just that.
He intends to use every tool at his disposal, every distraction and manipulation, to ensure the future will be his.

The time has come for the forgotten to be unveiled, and for the sealed to be unbound. Only then will the world know true fear.

If you like the look of Remedy, it is now avialable for pre-order

Like my other titles, it will also be free on Kindle Unlimited.

As a KU subscriber myself, I often lean towards reading KU titles, so I hope if you’re a subscriber this will tempt you too.

What’s next?

For my die hard fans out there, be warned, the final book in the series is not expected to be released until September 2019, but as the finale, you can bet everything that has occurred throughout the series comes in one glorious climax. Fear not, it is already written, but needs to undergo extensive revisions. After that, you can look forward to the series prequel, The Grimoire, which will be released as a stand alone, single book.

Last but not least:

I want to take this opportunity to thank you, the reader, and my supporters for being with me on this amazing journey. Writing has always been my dream, and thanks to your support it has been a successful one. I am honoured and humbled that you have chosen to read my work, and you will always have my heart-felt thanks.

Wishing you all an amazing day!

Happy Holidays and self promotion

Hi everyone.

I hope you enjoyed my Christmas advent. Out of the 100+ books I have read this year it was really difficult to narrow my list down to just 24 to recommend.

I hope there has been something to pique your interest, and I just want to say thank you for joining me for my book advent calendar.

Now since Christmas, for me at least, is the time to settle down with a good fantasy, be it film or fiction, I’m going to sneak my book links below, yes, it is a little bit of shameless self promotion tagged onto the end of a thanks, but you’ll forgive me right? After all, I spend most of my time promoting other people’s work 🙂

Darrienia – Will they discover the truth in time? Or will those who should be heroes, become nothing more than the pawns of evil?

51gtaxpsgklSettle down this Christmas with the winner of the IAN 2016 Outstanding Fantasy award.

It is said that the past always returns to haunt you. Yet some forgotten pasts have whispered names and a debt for collection. Dangerous curiosities stir a hidden darkness, one that patiently waits to seize control.

The subtle periphery between dream and reality is in peril and those chosen must face the evil behind this looming disaster. But lurking in the shadows, guiding their hand, lies the true threat and a hidden agenda.

Will they discover the truth in time? Or will those who should be heroes, become nothing more than the pawns of evil?

The Severaine – There are some bonds even death cannot destroy.

Civilisations rise and fall leaving only dust and legend in their wake. Kingdoms were lost, and races forgotten. Across the countless span of time one threat rises, heralding the end41txp5pilql of man’s rule, and laying to waste those who defiled its mistress. It is known as the Severaine, a power that in vengeance could bring even the Gods themselves to their knees. Each era overcame this peril so a new world could rise from the ashes of old. Lost within such wisdom could be the answers our heroes seek, a means to stop the threat before a new cycle is born.

But legends can lie and history can be mistaken.

There is another tale, a fable on the lips of few, it speaks of the means to force this power into submission, and there are those who would seek to bend this devastating might to their will.

Creatures rise, guardians wake, and sometimes even the meddling hands of man can turn divine plans awry. The prophesies of old were reforged by death and whisper now a chilling truth. If this path continues unobstructed there is only one conclusion. The end of man and god alike.

But there are some secrets that should never be uncovered and paths which mortals must fear to tread.

When revenge knows no boundaries there are some bonds even death cannot destroy.

Book review: The Crystal Shard (The legend of Ditzz book IV)

This is the first book I’ve read by R.A. Salvatore, I was looking for an epic fantasy read and 51VY1C606GL__SX302_BO1,204,203,200_a good friend pointed me here as they read it a long time back. Now I wish I started with book one and may find myself backtracking.

This book was initially published in 1988 stemming three editions to date, that means it predates the games such as World of Warcraft and other role play games which have brought to life some of the very images being described here. These books were what I would class as an epic movement in the world of fantasy stories, baring in mind the genre back then was not as popular as today and these tales have aged excellently. I didn’t feel as though I was reading a story crafted almost thirty years back, which in itself is a tribute to the author and their style Continue reading “Book review: The Crystal Shard (The legend of Ditzz book IV)”
